Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by Jana. This week is a freebie week, so I’m sharing my Winter TBR a week early! I’ve always been one to make very ambitious TBRs, and to be honest I’m not even sure I’ve stuck to my summer and autumn lists. But I wanted to share my Winter list anyway because we’re all here because we love lists, right?
1. Black Sun by Rebecca Roanhorse

Black Sun was the November pick for the Space Sirens book club and I am THE WORST and didn’t get to it in time for the liveshow. I love the sound of it, but I was swamped with real life plans in November (two birthdays and an anniversary) so I just didn’t have time. I want to read it in December though so I can actually discuss it with my friends. – Goodreads | Book Hype
2. The Water Knife by Paolo Bacigalupi
I put this one on my list of books to read by the end of the year and I can’t NOT get to it. I’ve read a book by Bacigalupi before and I remember very much enjoying it, so I’m expecting to love this one because it sounds like everything I love: post-apocalyptic cli-fi. – Goodreads | Book Hype
3. The Obelisk Gate by N K Jemisin
The Obelisk Gate is a book that I’ve been meaning to read literally all year. I feel silly for not having read it yet, but The Fifth Season broke me so hard that I felt like I needed a break before reading the sequel, and also I’m kind of scared about what’s going to happen next. – Goodreads | Book Hype
4. Concrete Rose by Angie Thomas
This one is coming out early January and I am HYPED. I’m not always keen on prequels about side characters, but I’ve loved both of Thomas’ books so far, and I have high hopes for this one. I didn’t think I’d enjoy her second book about an up and coming rapper either but I did! – Goodreads | Book Hype
5. The Galaxy and the Ground Within by Becky Chambers
My queeeeeen! I’m so sad this series is almost over, but it’s definitely going to be one that I treasure forever and reread all the time. I have received an ARC of this one and let me tell you it is KILLING me to not just drop everything and read it. I’m going to do that over Christmas though! – Goodreads | Book Hype
6. Game Changer by Neal Shusterman
I don’t even know what Game Changer is about but I just really like Neal Shusterman’s writing, and his worldbuilding is always so original and thought provoking. – Goodreads | Book Hype
7. Here and Now and Then by Mike Chen
I’m doing a project with Mike Chen’s books in the new year, where I marathon all of them and figure out which one I like best. I did the same thing with Ruth Ware’s books and had a blast, so I’m excited to do it with more authors who I think I’ll enjoy! – Goodreads | Book Hype
8. Monday’s Not Coming by Tiffany D Jackson
I’ve heard incredible things about Tiffany Jackson’s writing, and I’ve decided to start with this one because of the potential mystery/thriller elements. I think it sounds really good and it promises to be quite hard hitting. – Goodreads | Book Hype
9. Seven Devils by Laura Lam and Elizabeth May
This is another Space Sirens book club pick and I’m actually going to read this one in time for the liveshow! – Goodreads | Book Hype

10. All the books on my December buddy reading list!
I’m doing four buddy reads in December – one a week – and I am SO excited. We just finished reading One Day in December and today we start Five Total Strangers. The Bear and the Nightingale is also on the list, and we’re rounding it off with This Time Next Year. I’ve been really enjoying doing these themed buddy reads every few months and I’m looking forward to doing more in 2021!

Quite a list. Enjoy. https://pmprescott.blogspot.com/2020/12/ttt-120820.html
I recently read Monday’s Not Coming and really enjoyed it! It’s a great mix of hard-hitting contemporary and mystery. It has some different timeliness which I found a bit confusing sometimes. But well worth it in the end! Hope you’ll like it too 🙂
Seven Devils sounds interesting.
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday.
I’m so excited for The Concrete Rose.
My post.
I hope you enjoy all of these!
My TTT: https://jjbookblog.wordpress.com/2020/12/08/top-ten-tuesday-293/
I hope you get to all of these this winter. It looks like a great TBR.
Black Sun is amazing! I’m also excited for Concrete Rose and Five Total Strangers. They sound so good. Great list.
Great list! This Time Next Year sounds like a fun read!
Black Sun sounds awesome, I’ve been wanting to read Roanhorse. and I can’t WAIT for the new Becky Chambers. She might be my favorite SF writer right now.
Here and Now and Then was amazing!
Same. I rarely actually read all the books on my seasonal TBR lists, but I still love making them. It’s fun to think about what you want to read even if you never actually do, you know?
Happy TTT!

I am super keen for Concrete Rose!
Here and Now and Then was great. I liked On the Come Up too, but I was really big into rap in high school. Enjoy The Bear and the Nightingale next week!
Black Sun and Seven Devils both look like books I’d enjoy. Hope you enjoy all these 🙂
I prefer SFF over other genres so your list really resonated with me. Thanks for including Obelisk Gate. Seriously, Jemisin can do no wrong in my eyes. And I hope you’ll like Bear and Nightingale!

Great list, I hope you’ll get to all or most of these 🙂
The Becky Chambers series has been on my TBR for way too long, but at least I’ll have a good binge-read to look forward to!
I hope you love all these! I don’t think I finished my summer or autumn TBRs either.
Monday’s Not Coming is SO good and Tiffany D. Jackson is just an absolute genius. I wanted to reread it this year but I don’t think I’m going to have time.
