So I didn’t like One Dark Throne as much as Three Dark Crowns, but it was a really fun read. I think compared to the first book there is more action and less world building, which is a shame because I want to know more about this world. I’m crossing my fingers in the hope that we’ll get more of that in the third book.
I am still really freaking annoyed with the bloody romance. I still hate it so much. However, the relationship between Arsinoe and Mirabella is shaping up to be the best thing. I’m really glad it’s progressing the way it is, and I hope it continues like this.
I’ve got a F/F ship that I’m so ready for, but I’m not convinced that Blake is going to go for it. And, unfortunately, my ships keep getting split up. Over and over. (SEE: BELLARKE)
I’m really intrigued to see what happens with Katherine now. Her storyline isn’t the most exciting, but it’s eerie and I enjoy it. I don’t really like her, per se, but her storyline is super interesting.
The ending opened up some things for the third book so I’m looking forward to seeing how the author explores those and also expands the world. I’ve got my fingers crossed for more world building! Because like I keep saying, it’s really the best part of the series.
