It’s a new year, and it’s packed full of new releases. I’ve had to whittle January’s new releases list down by a lot, since it’s probably the busiest month of the year and there are so many that I’m looking forward to reading. Here are my most anticipated new releases of the month. If you’d like to see a longer (although still not complete) list of January new releases, check out my Booktube video here!
1st January
The Similars by Rebecca Hanover
Clones!
This is about a woman who comes across a girl who has been living in the woods, and it changes her life forever.
8th January
Two Can Keep a Secret by Karen M. McManus
This is such a good sophomore novel from McManus! I loved it. It’s a thriller set in a small town in which girls keep dying or going missing.
I’m not a massive Buffy fan, but I’m intrigued.
This is about the Goblin King!
This is a mystery/thriller about twins!
I’ve already read this and really enjoyed it! It’s about a journalist who’s investigating the disappearance of two girls who were on their gap year in Thailand.
This is about two sisters, one of which is in line to become empress, until their father names their male cousin his heir.
Undying by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner
This is the sequel to Unearthed, which was basically Tomb Raider in space.
The Kingdom of Copper by S. A. Chakraborty
I haven’t actually read The City of Brass yet but I want to so badly!
15th January
The Gilded Wolves by Roshani Chokshi
Six of Crows in Paris!
The Dreamers by Karen Thompson Walker
This has been compared to Station Eleven so I’m all in. It’s about a town in which everyone falls asleep and can’t be woken up.
22nd January
Ship of Smoke and Steel by Django Wexler
Django Wexler is attempting a YA fantasy about two sisters and I’m intrigued.
Circle of Shadows by Evelyn Skye
I have an ARC of this so I should probably read it, even though I wasn’t able to finish The Crown’s Game.
29th January
King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo
Nikolai!
The Love and Lies of Rukhsana Ali by Sabina Khan
This is about a queer Muslim girl who is outed to her parents and sent to Bangladesh.
The Dead Queens Club by Hannah Capin
Henry the 8th in high school!

There is SO many amazing books coming out next year and January is a strong start. King of Scars is definitely my most anticipated but I hadn’t heard of dead queens club and now I really want to read that too

I’m in the middle of King of Scars right now and I’m kind of nervous to continue!
