I don’t really have too much to say about this episode, surprisingly. Considering what happened, I was expecting to have a tonne of things to talk about, but the opposite is true. I seem to be a bit talked out. But here we go anyway.
- The episode starts with Murphy being beaten in a secret den in Polis. Since it’s Murphy, I didn’t care too much. It amused me with how he’s now gone back to his season one look.
- Then there’s a flashback to the day the world ended. The actress who plays ALIE is playing Becca and doing a wonderful job of it. I’m a bit more sure of her acting ability now as she’s so much more endearing as Becca.
- I do wonder as to why they didn’t use the “poison pill” stuff before. They’re trying to make a version 2.0 of ALIE, but they’ve left the original ALIE functioning? Like Raven pointed out, you don’t make a version 2 if the original is flawless.
- Anyway, the guy from the secret bunker Skypes Becca and reveals that ALIE hacking into nuclear launch codes. Wonderful! She’s doing it because there are too many people, so I guess she really is trying to save the Earth.
- China’s nuclear bombs target the USA. ALIE has the best plans, because if you’re going to target a country to start a nuclear war, the USA would be the one.
- Paul the Commander is adorable. I didn’t need to hear his daughter die JESUS CHRIST.
- I was going to say I was Team Semet re. KILL THE COMMANDER, but that plan went to shit.
- I didn’t listen to most of these scenes with Lexa and Clarke, tbh. “Titus is right.” Okay. I don’t know what he’s right about but okay.
- Lexa tells the armies to march on Arkadia… and contain them? Starve them out? I don’t know. But anyway, that plan didn’t work with the Third Servile War so I don’t see it happening now.
- “Any Skaikru caught across the line will be subject to a kill order.” This plan has still gone ahead, right? Oh dear.
- What is this black blood thing I don’t understand.
- It makes me laugh that ALIE 2 is meant to understand humanity and understand co-existing. Season one, anyone?
- “I am more than capable of separating feelings from duty.” Legit the only Lexa scene I have paid attention to since season two.
- Why are they speaking English in this scene, though?
- Indra makes me so sad. I love her a lot, and I’m glad that she and Octavia have teamed up again. However, her development in this episode needed more focus. It was too much to pack into one episode, it seems. More Indra scenes in future, por favor.
- I love that the real events have become legend.
- I can’t even fault Becca for trying to fix her mistakes, and the fact that she managed to help the people left on the ground.
- The Ark blew up Polaris even though they said they were going to begin their manoeuvres. I AM DISGUSTED THE SKY PEOPLE HAVE ALWAYS BEEN ARSEHOLES.
- Octavia agrees that Clarke hiding from her people for so long when they need her has become ridiculous. They need her and she’s shying away from them.
- I called Lexa dying a long time ago. It definitely didn’t come out of nowhere, since the writers had been foreshadowing it since season two.
- I cackled when she got shot. Not even sorry.
- I’m glad I will no longer have to put up with this evil witch.
- Eliza’s fabulous acting was fabulous. Towards the end Lexa sounded like she was dying from a slow-moving illness instead of a gunshot wound. It was all too calm and tidy. Weird.
- THE ANDROID THING IN HER NECK THAT WAS GROSS AND ALSO I CALLED IT THE COMMANDERS ARE ACTUALLY IN HER HEAD ALWAYS.
- Is Titus going to have to pay for this orrrr? I mean, he just killed the Commander using a weapon that is generally frowned upon in Grounder circles.
- The flashbacks were, for once, more interesting than the present day story WHO’D HAVE THOUGHT.
