Me in January
I didn’t get up to a whole lot in January, which was actually quite nice! It was good to chill out a bit because over the last few months I feel like I’ve been going nonstop.
We had a cinema day using our Cineworld Unlimited cards, during which we watched Jumanji, then went for lunch, and then went back to watch The Greatest Showman. I loved both films, despite having reservations about Jumanji at first. And like the rest of the blogosphere, I’ve had the soundtrack to The Greatest Showman playing on repeat. Such. Good. Songs.
I’m slowly getting back into the gym as well. Quill and I decided that we should go to the gym six times each before we buy a takeaway, so that’s motivating me. I’ve only been doing abs classes for now though because I find that’s the easiest way to reintroduce some cardio into my exercise regime. Not that I really have a “regime” yet but still.
I’ve been doing a tonne of reading! As you will see below, January was an epic month for reading. I don’t really know what happened. I could have read more as well but I also took time out to go to the gym, watch things, and generally just have a life outside of reading and blogging. What. Is. Going. On? That said, I haven’t been blogging quite so much. I am in the process of sorting out my February posts, and I hope to get them all scheduled well ahead so that my February reading goes just as well.

Book of the Month
Reading Stats
I realised that I kind of love looking at other people’s reading statistics, so I’ve decided to post mine every month! In January, I read a total of 14 books that came to a massive 5141 pages. I’m really proud of this because over the past year and a half, my monthly average has been about four books per month. I don’t know what happened in January but I hope it continues! All of the books I read were ebooks, which doesn’t surprise me because I’ve been finding it easier to read on my phone and my Kindle lately. I bought one ebook for £3.99, which isn’t bad going, especially as it was a book that I had been wanting for a year and I needed to recap it for Recaptains.
As you can see from the image below, I read five backlist titles and nine 2018 releases. The reason for this is I’m trying to smash out my review copies so I can relieve some of the pressure I’ve put on myself. But five backlist titles is decent, I think! I’ve also read more standalones than series, possibly because I’m not ready to commit to anything right now.
Let me know if these statistics are interesting, and if there are any others you’d like me to include. I’m using Crini‘s spreadsheet and there are a whole load of features on there.
Looking Forward
I don’t have many plans for February other than covering a lot at work (yay?), seeing friends that I haven’t seen in ages (WOO!), and going to the gym some more. I’d like to go ice skating again, and do a lot of reading, and see some more films. Black Panther is coming out, and I still haven’t seen The Death Cure, so those are on the top of my list.

I’m so glad you finally had a bit of a break. It’s about time. And you read so much! I read 15 books but had 1000 less pages. ???? I hope you have a wonderful February!

Well done with all the reading that’s crazy impressive! Some cool looking books on here as well. Love that you have your stats up for the month it is always fun to see your reading in different ways and way more fun to see it from month to month rather than wait until the end of the year. Was Jumanji really ok? I am fully prepared to hate it but I am intrigued to see it once it’s out of the cinema.
