Happy August everyone! I hope you have lots of exciting things planned for this month as summer comes to an end. Personally, I’ve got a lot going on in my personal life. In addition to receiving some rubbish news this morning (as I’m typing this), Quill and I are still trying to sort out everything we need to do to get on the property ladder eventually. It’s… a process.
BUT! I have some very exciting reading plans for August, and I wanted to share them with you here on the blog in an attempt to bring this baby back to life. I’m not committing to more than book reviews at the moment, but eventually I want to bring back TBR posts and wrap ups and all sorts of other goodness.
Here is my August TBR, in which I’m going to show you just how manic my August reading plans are and I’ll show you all the books I’m planning on reading!
#ARCAUGUST
Most importantly, ARC August is happening again this year. It’s hosted by the lovelies Octavia and Shelly, who have been hosting this readathon challenge for almost a decade now. I really need to improve my Netgalley score (and my relationship with publishers), so I’m taking it VERY seriously this month. Here are some of the books that I’m hoping to get to, among others. I’ve only included the books that I’m most excited for, but trust me, there are many others.

Readathons
Galleyathon is also happening in August (from 10th August until 16th August), which is fantastic timing. For this readathon there are just four main challenges, so I’ve chosen three (and a mystery) books that I’m going to focus on for that week.

And then we also have Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon happening on the 8th! YES!
Space Sirens Book Club

I also started a new book club with some friends which is the Space Sirens Book Club! You can find us on Twitter and on Youtube. Our first liveshow is happening on the 8th, in which we’ll discuss Mexican Gothic, and in August we’ll all be reading The House in the Cerulean Sea together ready to discuss it in September. You should join us!
That’s not all, but I decided not to include my mood reading here because this post already makes it look as though I won’t be able to cope. That said, if you want to see more of my TBR, you can check out my TBR video on Booktube!
I’ll probably check back in on this halfway through the month to let you all know how I’m getting on. In the meantime, tell me what your August plans are!
Sorry you’ve had some bad news and good luck with the quest to get on the property ladder, it’s a nightmare but I’m told it’s a smart investment. Stressful though! I’ve heard so many good things about Year of the Witching so I hope you enjoy it, I really need to get a copy now you’ve reminded me.
