The purpose of this feature is to show you guys which YA debuts I’m most looking forward to, and which ones I’ve enjoyed. Hopefully it’ll also help build some buzz around some of these debuts. There will be one post at the beginning of each month showing the top three upcoming debuts I’m most looking forward to and excited for, and it will also wrap up the previous month by showing which debuts I read and enjoyed.
So, here it is! The 2013 Debut Showcase for January. Since this is the first month of the year, there is obviously nothing to wrap up yet. Let me just show you the debuts I’m looking forward to!
Bonnie and Clyde meets IF I STAY in this addictively heart-wrenching story of two desperate teenagers on the run from their pasts.
They’re young. They’re in love. They’re on the run.
Zoe wants to save Will as much as Will wants to save Zoe. When Will turns eighteen, they decide to run away together. But they never expected their escape to be so fraught with danger….
When the whole world is after you, sometimes it seems like you can’t run fast enough.
Nobody But Us, told in alternating perspectives from Will and Zoe, is an unflinching novel, in turns heartbreaking and hopeful, about survival, choices, and love…and how having love doesn’t always mean that you get a happy ending. Described as “beautiful, heartbreaking, and exhilarating” by Kody Keplinger, author of The DUFF, Nobody But Us will prove irresistible to fans of Nina Lacour, Jenny Han, and Sara Zarr.
Then a girl in a neighboring chamber is found dead, and nobody but Felicia recalls that she existed in the first place. When Julian—a dangerously charming guy Felicia knew in life—comes to offer Felicia a way out, Felicia learns the truth: If she joins the rebellion to overthrow the Morati, the angel guardians of Level 2, she can be with Neil again.
Suspended between Heaven and Earth, Felicia finds herself at the center of an age-old struggle between good and evil. As memories from her life come back to haunt her, and as the Morati hunt her down, Felicia will discover it’s not just her own redemption at stake… but the salvation of all mankind.
They sound great, right?! There are a few more debuts I’m really looking forward to this month, but these three definitely stand out the most to me. I can’t wait to read them and let you guys know what I think!
Aaaaand that’s it for this post! It’s very short, since there’s nothing to wrap up yet. I’m sure that in February I’ll have lots to talk about!

Revolution 19 is great entertainment, but is utterly incapable of captivation. Nobody But Us (I only read 100 pages) I found was ridiculous and I’m completely unsure how it got published – if you like ‘I love her/I love him’ every single alternating chapter then yeah that’s what you’re getting. And Level 2 had a great concept but plot fell a little flat (gave it 3 stars).
Sorry to put the damper on your excitement for these books haha. Maybe you might enjoy all three much more. 😉
Amber (Books of Amber) says
BRAIDEN! Shush. I don’t want to be put off! XD I quite liked Revolution 19 although it was nowhere near as good as I was expecting. Looking forward to the other two though XD
Dianna (Stories After Twelve) says
I have Revolution 19 and Nobody But Us and I hope they live up to our expectations. I’m currently reading Revolution 19 and it sounds good. But I can’t wait to read what you think of them! : )
Amber (Books of Amber) says
I finished Revolution 19 and… meh. It was good, but nothing like I was expecting. I hope you end up enjoying it more than I did! 😀
Erin W. says
Level 2 wasn’t a huge favourite book of mine (unfortunately!) though it did have a great concept to it. But I’m definitely looking forward to reading Nobody But Us . . . it sounds really good.
Amber (Books of Amber) says
A few people have said that Nobody But Us is awesome, so I’m really looking forward to it! Sorry you didn’t enjoy Level 2… I hope I do XD

I enjoyed Revolution 19, although it could have been better. Level 2 sounds GREAT, I agree!

Oooo fun new feature Amber! I’m really excited for all of these as well, particularly Level 2. I met Lenore at BEA this year and she’s just adorable. Such a pretty cover too!

I’m glad you like the new feature! Lenore seems like such a sweetie! I can’t wait to read her book.

Okay- the only one I heard of before this post was Level 2- but now I want them ALL!
This is a great feature 😀
Amber (Books of Amber) says
Hehe! Nobody But Us hasn’t had much hype, from what I can tell. Glad the post was somewhat useful 😀 EEP! Thanks.
Maja (The Nocturnal Library) says
I read a review of Level 2 just yesterday and it left me quite intrigued, although it was mildly critical. Revolution 19 looks great too, but so far, the reviews have been disapponting.
Amber (Books of Amber) says
I’ve been avoiding all reviews until I read the books, in case I get put off by them! Revolution 19 was okay… nothing too amazing but I enjoyed it!
Felicia says
These all look great. I’ve got my eye on Level 2 also. Nobody But Us looks like something I’d get my hands on too. Thanks for bringing them to my attention 🙂
Amber (Books of Amber) says
I’m glad the post was useful 😀

Oh dear, I didn’t like Nobody But Us, and I’ve heard unfortunate things about Revolution 19. However, Level 2 was great!
