Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. I’m a day late but whatever.
1. The Bitter Kingdom by Rae Carson
I’ve decided that I want to do some spring cleaning with my TBR, and one of my tasks is to finish a few of the series that I’ve had going on for a while. The Bitter Kingdom is going to be one of these. It’s been a few years since I read the first two books, so I’m going to have to use Recaptains to refresh my memory, but I remember really enjoying them both so I’m looking forward to this one.
2. The Crimson Crown by Cinda Williams Chima
This is another series that I’ve been in the middle of for ages. I was meant to finish it ages ago in time for the spin-off series when it was released, but I completely failed. I’m excited to finish this one because I adore the main character and I want to see how things turn out for her.
3. The Secret Speech by Tom Rob Smith
I’m technically in the middle of reading this, although I haven’t touched it in months. I loved Child 44, so when I started The Secret Speech and found out it had a completely different feel to it, I was kind of let down. I do want to finish it, though, because I have the third book in the trilogy and I guess I should read it. Plus I really like the main character.
The ending of Shift made me really excited for this one. Unfortunately, it took me a while to get my hands on a copy of Dust, so I’ve been in limbo with this trilogy. I’m going to read it in the near future though, and I’m pretty excited.
5. Traitor to the Throne by Alwyn Hamilton
I loved Rebel of the Sands so much and I cannot wait to pick this up. In fact, I’m going to make it my next read.
6. The Blade Itself by Joe Abercrombie
This comes highly recommended by my boyfriend, and I promised him I’d start it soon. I haven’t wanted to start a new series over the past few months because the amount that I’m reading is a little overwhelming. I think I’m going to read this after Traitor to the Throne, though.
7. The World of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Martin
I received this as a Christmas gift and it is SO pretty! I’m going to try to read it before the series starts up again in the summer. And I also need to catch up with the show, as I fell behind a couple of seasons ago and I had little desire to catch up, but now I’ve been talked into it.
8. The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini
This is another book that I’m reaaaaally excited to read. I read the graphic novel back in 2010/2011, and I wanted to read the book straight away but I kept putting it off. I think I’ve given it enough time now, and I don’t remember too much of the plot, so I feel like I’ll enjoy the reread.
9. Timeline by Michael Crichton
I’m going to finally get to this! Hopefully.
10. Battle Royale by Koushun Takami
I am very curious about the Hunger Games comparisons. This book sounds really dark and bloody, and I’m weirdly looking forward to that.

Oh man, I’ve been wanting to read Battle Royale for years. Have you seen the movie? My friends and I were obsessed with it in high school, haha.
