Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish
This post is making me feel incredibly nostalgic! Back in 2010, I read and loved so many books, many of which I would probably still enjoy. I kind of want to reread ALL THE BOOKS now.
This was my favourite book of 2010. I love time travel and parallel universe stuff, and Rich People Drama, and this book was the perfect mix of both. The Groundhog Day stuff was brilliant. I haven’t enjoyed a Lauren Oliver this much since. To make it even better, it was recently turned into a pretty decent movie.
I fangirled about this book so much! It went entirely under the radar when it was released. I think I discovered it while watching someone’s In My Mailbox video, and I bought it because I was in the mood for a mystery book and I really liked the cover. Raeleen and I fangirled over this book so much. I read it a few times back in 2011, but I haven’t read it since. It might be time to change that!
The Hex Hall trilogy was such a fun one. I’m not actually a huge fan of paranormal books any more, but I really enjoyed this trilogy back in the day. I probably liked it so much because of the boarding school setting, the humour, and, of course, THE SHIP. I shipped it hard.
This is another one that kicked off my love for time travel books. I remember being completely drawn in by the time travel plot, and I think I loved the main character. I’m planning on recapping this trilogy soon for Recaptains, so that will be a good excuse to reread the first two books.
Poison Study is a bit more controversial because of the main ship. To be honest, I can’t remember much about the ship, just that I shipped it. #ownit. I loved the world that Snyder created, though, and I flew through this trilogy. I was a bit disappointed by her third fantasy trilogy that was set in a completely new universe, though.
I think this was another one that I picked up because I saw it in an In My Mailbox video and I liked the look of the cover. It turned out to be a really good historical read, and there was some unexpected LGBTQ+ thrown in! So I think this was the first LGBTQ+ book I reviewed on my blog.
I almost definitely wouldn’t love this one if I were to reread it, but back in the day it was a really good werewolf book. And the cover (before the cover change… ugh) is absolutely stunning. I think this will always be the cover change that I’m most upset by because the originals were gorgeous. Unfortunately, they changed the covers for the trilogy just before the release of Wolfsbane, so the first book is the only one with the original cover. The cover is the only reason I’m keeping hold of the book, to be honest, because the trilogy went way, way downhill after book one.
Outside In was my first ever review copy from NetGalley, and obviously I had to read the first book before I could get to that. Inside Out was also one of my first experiences with YA sci-fi, and I really enjoyed it. I’m going to recap this one as well, and I’m really looking forward to doing so. I can’t remember much about the characters, but I remember the ending to the first book and it was pretty great.
Pretty much everyone loved this one! It was probably the most popular contemporary book after Sarah Dessen. It’s about a white girl and a Mexican guy who get together, which causes some issues between families and gangs. I loved it. The two characters definitely had chemistry. I don’t think I’d enjoy it as much if I were to read it now, and I didn’t like the two companion books as much, mostly because it was the same story told over and over. But this one was good.
My friend D’Ann and I have spent a lot of time talking about this series. I was pretty obsessed! The first three books were fantastic. I love murder mysteries and thrillers, and this one had great suspense as well as a tiny bit of paranormal thrown in. I wasn’t a fan of how the series ended, but the first three were great. Plus, there was a great ship. SHIPPPP.

I haven’t read any of these books but I do remember having some serious cover lust over Nightshade when I first saw it on a blog. And I definitely remember how popular Perfect Chemistry was, but I never picked it up for myself.

I haven’t read any of these yet (I’m saying that a lot today!), but I think I just added half of these to my TBR. 😀
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday.

Man I’ve NEVER seen anyone talk about The Body Finder! I read it like forever ago too and was thoroughly engrossed when I was younger. I may need to reread it!
