I’m pretty sure I had forgotten why I loved Cinder so much before reading Scarlet. I read it so long ago, and I didn’t have time for a reread before getting to this. Luckily for me, Scarlet is just as amazing and once I started reading it was easy to tell why I fell in love with Meyer’s writing and the world she has created.
Thanks for the warning! I haven’t read the synopsis entirely, so I’m glad that you crossed away the spoilers. I hate it when they do that!
The beginning of this book sounds great. I love it when I get a short introduction about the last book. I still know what happened, but I like the idea π and it sounds like she handled it well instead of dumping all the information in a page.
The different POV’s sound great. I like them if they are well-written, and if one author can manage that, it’s Marissa. And Scarlet and me are going to be best book friends for life, I think. I really liked Cinder too. Marissa’s character (and world-building) are pfenomenal.
Now I really can’t wait to read this one. <3

Me too, I HATE it when they spoil the book. WHYYYY do they do it?!
I also hate info dumps, so the beginning of this was perfect. I’m actually really looking forward to seeing how Meyer reminds the reader about previous events in Cress as well. Is that weird? π
YAY!!! Glad you loved this one too Amber! I was really nervous about picking this one up because I just wanted to stick with Cinder’s story and not have any new MCs, but I adored Scarlet and Wolf (and Thorne!) and I can’t wait to see how she’s going to toss yet another new MC into the mix in the next book. I thought the Little Red Riding Hood references were genius as well – she’s so clever:) Fantastic review!
Yes! I was worried because I had grown quite attached to Cinder. But Scarlet was AWESOME. I’m so happy to be introduced to her. I’m really looking forward to meeting the new MC as well, and seeing if she’ll join their little gang π Thanks!

and yes, this is the most coherent comment you’ll get from me. I’ll add the squeeling: EEEEEEEP!
I expect you to liveblog on Twitter! If you’re not too captivated, that is π
I read the synopsis! Wah! Why do i do this to myself? Well, I preordered it anyway so, I’ll be reading it sooooon! Might be able to read Cinder beforehand though! Think i read it in august so wasn’t that long ago π
Love the keyboard smash! hehe!
Star π
I wish I could warn everybody about it π But still, I hope you love it! IT’S SOOOO GOOD.

I really enjoyed Cinder so I can’t wait to read this one! I’m doubly excited since you said you loved it!
EEP! I’ll be looking out for your thoughts on it. I need people to fangirl over Scarlet with me, because she is AWESOME.
I cannot wait to read this! I loved Cinder, and I’m sure I’ll love Scarlet! Great review. π
Thanks for the warning, why do they do this!? WHY!? I’m literally about to start this and am so, so excited! Fantastic review π
I love this one, too! I was so scared to read it after loving Cinder so much, I was so worried it just wouldn’t live up to book one. I had nothing to worry about, though! Scarlet was fantastic!
I really need to get my hands on a copy of Cinder and give this author a try, particularly since your review is so excited about her and this series. I like the sound of the books being based on fairytales too.
Great review and thanks for the heads up about the spoiler! π
New follower.
YAAY for Scarlet!! Im only 100 pages in, but I already love her!! I can see why you’d want to be her! haha! I definitely loved how Marissa Meyer reminded us of what happened in Cinder, because like you, I tend to forget! lol! Glad you loved this one! Great review Amber!
