Welcome to my monthly post where I talk about my most anticipated book releases for the upcoming month. May has some very promising new releases, and I’m looking forward to a lot of them.
I only caught up with this series recently, but I’m so glad I did because I’m ready for the conclusion! I always love books about people with supernatural abilities, and I like that the author has mixed that with a rebellion. It’s a bit like ATLA but not as good.
The Smoke Thieves by Sally Green
I hated Green’s other book, Half Bad, but for some reason I have high hopes for this.
I requested an ARC of this and the publisher rejected me because they clearly hate me. I’m still really excited for it though! I’m a bit disappointed with the final cover. It’s not as good as the cover for the ARC.
Okay, so I’ve actually only read one of Kristoff’s books that he hasn’t co-written, and that was Stormdancer. But I loved that, so I’m keeping this book on the list in the hope that it’ll urge me to pick up his other stuff. I’ve had Nevernight on my shelf for freakin’ ages, so now is the time to pick it up.
Onyx and Ivory by Mindee Arnett
I’m so excited for this one! Look at the cover! Also I love Arnett’s writing.
Airports, Exes, and Other Things I’m Over by Shani Petroff
I kind of just like the title of this one/
From Twinkle, With Love by Sandhya Menon
I wasn’t a massive fan of When Dimple Met Rishi, but I did like the peek into Indian-American culture that we got, so I’m going to give this one a go and hope that it’s more exciting than Menon’s debut.
