Note from Amber: Tatum declined to do an intro because she put so much thought into this post. So here it is.
- Does anyone else immediately think of snakeskin when they look at The 100 title thing? No? Just me? Okay then.
- NO LEXA. IN THIS EPISODE. NO. LEXA. AND SO MUCH BELLAMY IT’S EVERYTHING I’VE EVER DREAMED OF
- Bellamy looks very beautiful in this episode. So many close ups of his face…the kind of content I signed up for t b h.
- Bellamy naturally assuming leadership in difficult moments is just so reminiscent of S1 dynamics <3 Like Clarke, he’s the one to talk/negotiate with people, especially now that Clarke isn’t around.
- ‘Choose the side that’s best for your people’ ‘I do that every day.’ BEST PARALLEL. BEST LINE. FINALLY THIS SHOW GIVING ONE OF THEIR BEST CHARACTERS THE SCREENTIME HE SO RICHLY DESERVES.
- Also it’s totally not a mistake that Bellamy’s out in front while Pike and the rest of the people are behind him – he’s notably the leader figure, if not in official name, in actions. He does what he feels is best for his people every day! (Amber: YES)
- Monty is also becoming an important part of the inner circle and I love that because 1) the remaining 100 are SO. IMPORTANT and 2) Monty is perfect.
- lmao Pike slowly turning Arkadia into the kind of society inspired by totalitarian regimes. Harper’s not wrong when she refers to Pike as a ‘fascist’ – the parallels are there to be made.
- ‘Maybe…that’s who we need to be.’ Miller echoing one of Bellamy’s lines from S1 is beautiful because it’s such a great throwback to that time when Bellamy called Miller his ‘second’. He’s an influential, charismatic leader whose beliefs and speeches have resonated with the masses. Because he inspires them (and Clarke inspires him).
- LOVING this underground rebellion vibe, not loving Kane leading it because fuck that guy.
- 1) Finn gave himself up 2) He slaughtered an entire village 3) So definitely not the example Pike should be using to strengthen his cause.
- Jasper has finally started to resemble a character again as opposed to a waste of screentime. It’s nice not tuning out his scenes for once.
- I will maintain forever that a huge part of Monty siding with Pike’s cause is because of his ‘What Would Clarke Do’ mantra that he mentioned in S2. Clarke would side with Bellamy so Monty does too. Also, Monty is loyal to his fellow 100 and has seen the very worst of what Grounders can do to his people…all of that plays into his current choices.
- Bellamy should arrest me next, iajs.
- Jasper talking about his and Monty’s friendship back on the ARK gave me the feelings, not gonna lie.
- I hate the burgeoning relationship between Bellamy and Kane. I don’t care that it’s popular and I know it’s not gonna go away but I deeply dislike it. Bellamy doesn’t NEED the approval of a guy who upheld a system that forced him to keep his baby sister under the floors for much of her life. Like, just because Pike and Lexa are the WORST doesn’t mean that I’ve forgotten how shit Kane and Abby are.
- Quite invested in Miller and Bryan (HERCULES! <3) relationship. I mean, #MINTY forever but this will do too. Adorable children, I love them.
- ‘Is any of this worth lying to the person that I love?’ ‘It is if you’re protecting them.’ LOVE THAT SUBTLETY, SHOW. LOVE IT.
- ‘Finn was real.’ Raven struggling to remember Finn (I don’t blame her, I forgot he existed on this show too) was brilliant in that it showed the underside of the ~City of Light. Alie sucks and she knows it…MY GIRL. (Amber: Who’s Finn?)
- LINCOLN SLOWLY SWAGGERING UP TO BELLAMY <3333 I LOVE THEM. I LOVE EVERYTHING.
- THIS RIOT SCENE IS AMAZING IT MOVES SO FAST AND BRUTALLY I JUST <3333333333333333
- Lol @ Alie and Jaha actually discussing about overriding free choice. The City of Light sounds like a great place!
- Me when Kane is held up as heroic/when Bellamy feels things for him:

- Casually admiring Bellamy doing the most beautiful crying I have ever seen. Truly, we are blessed by Bob Morley.
- Pike legit did what Lexa did by sentencing Kane to death. Both used their position to eliminate threats to their authority (Lexa threw a guy off a tower) like it’s not a gross abuse of their own positions. No court of law in their systems because their word is the law.
- I’m gonna say it again: THE original 100 ARE SO IMPORTANT.
- ‘No. I do it everyday.’ It’s such a brilliant parallel, honestly. I love how circular this is because it’s a repeat of a conversation Bellamy and Clarke had in S1 – B: ‘Leaders do what they think is right’ C: ‘I am’. Bellamy’s a leader and he’s taking responsibility for his own mistakes while protecting his people. I love him so much.
- MAYBE now we’ll finally get Bellamy joining the rebellion and getting the onscreen character development that he should’ve gotten for two consecutive seasons if not for GUEST STARS getting ridiculous amounts of screentime/fanfiction brought to life.
