Who took this video of me on Thursday night? Someone own up right now! Just joking, I know it was Tatum.
This episode pretty much brought up and confirmed everything I have been saying since the premiere last month and I feel SO VINDICATED YOU GUYS. It’s a fabulous feeling. I’m walking on air. And I’m also dead in a puddle on the floor because the Bellarke was too much for me. If it’s going to be too much for you then I suggest you turn back now.
I haven’t figured out a way to convey or structure my thoughts properly so I hope you enjoy this complete mess of a “review”. I guess I’ll start with the most boring stuff first and work up to the life ruining stuff because that’s how I roll.
Murphy
- Did I give a shit about his scenes? No. Not in the slightest. I don’t ship him and Emori, I find their relationship boring and basic and baseless. Is that a word? Who knows. I hate Murphy, and I always will. Apparently he’s been getting a redemption arc but I seem to have missed that memo, since I will #neverforget the fact that he went on that little mass murdering spree of his own people, tried to kill Bellamy, lied about Clarke probably being dead, bullied everyone, etc. etc. #KillMurphy2016
- However, I’m curious about the Grounders that he ended up meeting at the end of this episode. Mostly, I’m curious about why they think that symbol on the weird drug is holy and all that.
- Also, Murphy dropped Jaha’s hallucinogenic pill on the ground. I hope no one is going to eat that because it would suck to get a bacterial infection and not realise.
Jahses
- I only care about him a tiny bit more than Murphy. And by him, I mean his scenes. And by his scenes, I mean the ones that involve Raven.
- How dare he get Raven on board with this madness tbh
- Die Jaha.
- But anyway, I’m still wondering how this whole City of Light/hallucinogenic pill thing works. Someone take an axe to that backpack. Is it like Pandora’s Box or something? How does one pill allow everyone to tune into The ALIE Show?
Lexa
- I.
- HATE.
- YOU.
- “So I’m a prisoner again?” “Yes.” Yet another reason why I can’t stand Clexa and their fucked up fucking relationship. I’m pretty sure I’m glaring at the screen in the middle of the coffee shop right now because I am honestly enraged and quite fucking disgusted.
- In this episode, Lexa proved yet again what an absolute asshat she is. Not only did she attempt to control Clarke using her status as Commander AGAIN (luckily my Queen can’t be tamed), she ranted at Indra about how everybody is her subject. “They are all my subjects.” Lexa’s way of leading her people (sorry, her subjects) is fucking awful. She considers herself above everyone, and the Grounders’ political set up not being a democracy doesn’t help. She’s so far up her own arse that she doesn’t take her people’s needs into considering.
- To me, Lexa seems to care more about the statistics. I mean, she wants to keep as many people alive as possible, even if it means sacrificing smaller groups a la TonDC. She doesn’t care about the individuals, as Clarke and Bellamy do. Bellamy remembers every single person that the Grounders killed. I bet he could list off the 37 names more easily than remembering his own mother’s birthday. But Lexa doesn’t give a shit and she’s so high and mighty that her way of leading is simply dangerous.
- I hate her and I want to smack her in the face with a loaf of bread.
Raven
- I am loving Raven’s arc and storyline right now, even if it is starting to involve Jaha and the City of Light.
- She is an adorable fighter pilot and I’ve just realised that I ship her with Poe Dameron.
- Ehem.
- Anyway, I love what they’re doing with her character. I’ve seen a lot of people with disabilities say that they love it too. Raven is struggling with her leg, not only physically but mentally as well. She’s not used to not being able to do all the things. She’s feeling left out. She’s feeling useless and depressed. And I love it because (to me) it seems like a good representation of how a new disability can affect someone.
- I can’t wait to watch the rest of Raven’s story unfold, especially as she seems to become a more central character in the latter half of the season. Fingers crossed!
Bellarke
- And this is what I’ve been waiting to talk about.
- Bob Morley. Has. Amazing. Talent.
- Obviously, I am talking about the Bellarke scene towards the end of the episode where they were once again reunited. I knew another reunion was coming, but I wasn’t expecting it to be so wonderful and epic.
- Bellamy completely lost it with Clarke, and brought up all the things that most of us fans had been waiting to hear for almost a year. Clarke left Bellamy after he helped her kill a mountain of people (pun so not intended), and she has now latched onto
an evil worthless piece of shitsomeone who betrayed them and caused it to happen. He’s mad. He’s upset. And he’s broken.
- “You left me.” was honestly the most heartbreaking thing I have heard in recent memory. Yes, Clarke left everybody after the Mount Weather massacre, but Bellamy is destroyed by the fact that she left him behind as well. They were supposed to be a team. He helped her through the hardest thing she’s ever had to do. And she left him.
- I am so happy that Bellamy laid into her because for the past four episodes everyone has been skirting around the fact, and no one has told Clarke what kind of consequences her actions had.
- I do, of course, understand why Clarke left. Everyone deals with trauma in different ways, and I don’t judge her for leaving Camp Jaha. But I do judge her for siding with and practically sharing a bed with the person who caused all that to happen. And Bellamy does as well.
- Prior to (and, honestly, after as well. This fandom.) this episode, I had seen a lot of people complaining about how all of this is very out of character for him. Apparently he’s “regressed back to his season one self” and “can no longer be redeemed”. But guys, Bellamy has always put people before himself. First it was Octavia, who he literally killed for, and then by the end of season one he was so deep into this whole caring thing that he would do anything to protect his people.
- Bellamy has always been the leader of the people, whereas Clarke has always been more involved in the mechanics and politics of it. She’s been trying to make peace with the Grounders for a long time, but Bellamy always wanted his people to just be able to live.
- I’m rambling but whatever. I don’t see how Bellamy siding with Pike and going up against the Grounders is OOC. As he said, they’ve been at war since they landed.
- Anyway, back to Bellarke. THE CHEMISTRY AND THE EMOTION THAT BOB AND ELIZA HAVE ALL THE TIME. It all rose to the surface in this epic scene of epicosity. I nearly fainted. I legit felt dizzy. Not only was Bob’s acting phenomenal, Eliza’s was also pretty great, and the script was like something I had written in my head. Everyone involved absolutely killed it.
- I don’t see how, after watching this episode, you can argue that Bellamy and Clarke are not going to end up together. You might view their relationship as platonic right now, but I think it’s pretty obvious where the writers are going with the pair of them. And honestly, I think it’s pretty obvious that they’re in fucking love with each other, but too much shit keeps getting in the way. If things were like they were back in season one, I think they would be together. But there’s too much at risk right now to even care about an actual relationship. But still, they love each other and I think that is more important right now than sex and kissing.
So that’s it. I could write about this episode and this show and my OTP all day, but I am having trouble holding myself back as it is so I think I will stop now. If you want more in-depth analysis and ranting and a constant stream of feels, I would recommend following me on Twitter because I can’t stop talking about this bloody show.

DYING @ YOUR BELLARKE THOUGHTS
and YES i think it’s obvious that they’re playing it like they’re in love but too much stuff keeps getting in the way, as well as jroth’s giant thing for clexa (blech). i think they were always gonna kill her in some big moment anyway so once that happens the real story will begin.
lmao jahses. i like this show a lot but it is straight up ripping this storyline off bsg and it’s incredibly annoying. you cannot hope to compare to the original sl because gaius baltar and six were ICONIC and jaha and that lady are most definitely…not.
