If you have been paying attention, you might be able to recall that I’ve been in a massive reading slump for the past seven months. It’s getting better, but it’s slow going. Instead of reading ten or more books each month, I’ve been reading two or three. This is partly because I’ve been socialising more, but it’s also because I’ve been having trouble focussing on reading in general. So I’m bringing back my monthly TBR posts in the hope that they’ll inspire me. I want to have a pile of books to choose from so I can get excited about reading again. These are the ones I’ve picked out for February.
The Edge of Everything by Jeff Giles
Most of these books are review copies, and this is the first one. It was sent to me unsolicited, but I have to admit it sounds quite good. I’m intrigued.
The Ship Beyond Time by Heidi Heilig
THE SEQUEL TO MY FAVOURITE BOOK OF 2016 YES
In case I’m in the mood for Urban Fantasy. I don’t really want to start a new series, but it might have to be done if I start to crave UF.
The Lake of Dead Languages by Carol Goodman
This is meant to be a Work Book Club book but that’s failing miserably, so I guess I’ll be reading it in my own time since I’ve got it and it sounds quite good.
This has been getting some awful reviews, but I simply have to read every Kasie West book ever.
One Of Us Is Lying by Karen M. McManus
One Of Us Is Lying isn’t out until the summer but I’m in the mood to read it now. I’ll hopefully be getting to it very soon.
The Pearl Thief by Elizabeth Wein
I’m not entirely sure I’m ready for a Code Name Verity prequel.
And this is just one that I saw on my shelf earlier and was suddenly really in the mood for. Another unsolicited review copy. It sounds like it’s a mix of historical and apocalyptic, so I am here for that.
Amazing TBR–especially A Ship Beyond Time! I also loved the Girl From Everywhere, so I can’t wait to see what happens with Nix and Kash in the sequel 🙂
Brittany @ Brittany’s Book Rambles
Will it ever be possible to be emotionally prepared for a Code Name Verity prequel???? I’m so excited for it but it’s going to hurt just because of “KISS ME HARDY, KISS ME QUICK” *sobs 5eva*
I hope you enjoy them all!
I am so excited to finally read Kasie West! I recently got The Fill-In Boyfriend and I’ve heard excellent things about West’s writing! Good luck with meeting your reading goals this month! 😀
