THE 100 IS BACK TONIGHT!!!!!!!
Now that I have that out of my system, I should probably introduce this post. The 100 is one of my favourite shows, and it’s no secret that I like to shout at you all about it, whether that’s on Twitter or on this blog. I thought that, since the show is back tonight, I would share some of my hopes and expectations for the upcoming season. We’ve been waiting almost a year for this, so I had better get SOMETHING. Of course, some of the things that follow probably won’t happen, but I can dream.
1. More death
I’m fully expecting this season to be the one where we lose the most people. Whereas I’m hoping for Jasper to finally kick the bucket, along with Lexa and Murphy, the fandom are theorising that Raven is going to be one of the first to die. I hope not, because Raven is in my top four favourite characters (I have four who I adore with everything in me and the rest can just get on with life) and the poor woman has already been through so much. The writers pride themselves on the show’s diverse cast and storytelling, so I’m wondering if they would be up for killing off a favourite disabled Latina character, but again, this is The 100 and anything can happen.
I realise that this point’s title is a little vague. I’m hoping for Bellarke to kiss and get together, but I don’t want to get my hopes up too high in case that doesn’t happen. (Who am I kidding, my hopes are already through the roof and can’t be tamed.) But I am expecting one great Bellarke reunion. I saw that Bellamy is doing all he can to find her, and I think after the “Together” scene in the season two finale where they killed hundreds of people TOGETHER to save their own, they are tied together more than they were before. The two of them are partners, and they need each other, and even if Clarke needed some time to herself to trek through the forest and have hot sex with female Grounders, they’ll always navigate towards each other.
3. The Blake siblings
There’s that scene in the promo where Octavia hits Bellamy and tells him that he’s dead to her. My heart is BROKEN. SHATTERED. TORN APART. The Blakes are my favourite relationship in the show. Yes, over Bellarke. I can’t handle them like this. I am, however, left wondering exactly what went on. I fully expect them to break my heart, although I’m trying to figure out exactly why Octavia is so upset with Bellamy. Of course, Bellamy seems to be up to something – which I’ll talk more about in a moment – so I’m wondering if his actions get Lincoln hurt, thus upsetting Octavia. I mean, who else would Octavia get so upset about, aside from Bellamy himself?
4. Bellamy Blake
OKAY SO THIS IS WHAT I WANTED TO TALK ABOUT FIRST BUT I HELD BACK. I have so many theories after watching that promo about a billion times (okay, so it was more a couple of times a day since it was released, but still) that I need to get them off my chest. Bellamy seems to have been recruited by that new bad guy, whatever his name is. I take ages to learn new character names so bear with me. Let’s call him NBG. So I imagine that NBG is up to something that disturbs the peace, i.e. starting a war, and Bellamy is caught up in it. However, I like to think that Bellamy knows what he’s doing. He says in the trailer that we have to trust him, and to be honest, I do. I don’t think Bellamy would just go along with someone’s plans to start a war and aimlessly kill people unless he a) had a plan, or b) it was absolutely necessary. So I think that Bellamy is playing NBG. I think he’s an inside man and is double crossing him. But he can’t tell Octavia and the others, or he’ll endanger them. Of course, this theory is based on just a few seconds of footage, but I absolutely refuse to believe that Bellamy is going along with this guy.
And this is going to cause so many tears and panic attacks, I just know it. From me, I mean, not just the characters.
5. Jaha and the AI
I have no idea what to even expect from these two. At the end of season two we saw that the AI had a nuclear bomb, and it was implied that she had started the war that almost destroyed the Earth, and she wanted Jaha to continue her work. Now, Jaha isn’t completely stable at this point. He pushed a teenager off a boat to survive. He went on a trek to find this fabled City of Light, without knowing what it might mean or what he might find there. So I’m slightly concerned about what he’s going to do, and how it’s going to affect my faves back in the forest. Because these storylines have to meet at some point, but I can’t figure out exactly how that’ll be just yet.
While I don’t despise this pairing as I did Flarke, I’m not a supporter of them either. Lexa left Clarke TO. DIE. along with the rest of her people. It was complete and utter betrayal that made no sense at all. Lexa made a deal with the Mountain Men, who had been hunting her people and turning them into Reapers, which would then hunt and kill her people, and betrayed Clarke. Which you don’t do if you want me to ever like you. It was a shitty choice all round, because there is nothing stopping the Mountain Men from then going back to their usual schedule after Clarke and the rest are dealt with. So no, I won’t forgive Lexa, and I really hope that Clarke doesn’t either. In the sense that I don’t want Clarke to get together with her, because I don’t think Lexa deserves Queen Clarke Griffin. So my expectation and hope for them is that Clarke gives her what for (a truce would be okay afterwards, I suppose) and then Clarke goes and has sex with that Grounder woman who is shown in the promo.
I could honestly talk about this show all day, but I’ll leave this at those main points for now. I’m so excited for The 100 to come back on that I can’t contain myself. I’m glad I have the day off work tomorrow or I wouldn’t be able to function. Feel free to comment on my points and/or share your expectations for the coming season below. I need to talk about this show with people!
