Do you ever have moments of regret over not requesting review copies? I do, particularly this month because there are a bunch of debut novels coming out and most of them were on Edelweiss. I’m kind of glad I didn’t get them because I’m no longer doing the whole review copy thing if I can help it (Queen of Shadows would be an exception… if there are ARCs), but at the same time I’m probably not going to get to these awesome sounding debuts for ages! Do you ever feel this way?
Anyway, there are a bunch of debuts out this month and I want to read every single one of them!
The Storyspinner by Becky Wallace is first up (it came out last week!) as a fantasy novel that features Katniss Everdeen. Er… I mean, a character who looks awfully competent at the bow. We All Looked Up by Tommy Wallach has a very annoying cover (seriously, can anybody read the title?) but the premise sounds interesting. It’s about four teenagers who try to figure out the meaning of life (lol) when an asteroid is about to hit and destroy the planet. The Wrong Side of Right by Jenn Marie Thorne is about a girl whose mother died last year. I expect it’ll tug on the heartstrings!
Everything That Makes You by Moriah McStay is a parallel universe novel and you all know how I feel about those. And lastly, The Memory Key by Liana Liu is a futuristic novel set in a world in which a type of memory disease is plaguing the world, and so people have memory chips so they don’t forget anything. I can see where this could go wrong.

I read The Storyspinner twice and loved it both times! I definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a good fantasy novel. The world-building is heavily influenced by Portugal, which makes the story feel different from other ones, which tend to feel American or English. It also has a slow-burn love-hate romance with great chemistry. Am I doing a good job of selling it to you? Haha. I never miss a chance to be a book pusher. But seriously, you should give it a shot!
