Look at me, I’m on a roll with this Debut Showcase thing! Can I get an applause? Okay, yes, I know it’s only month two, but that’s so not the point. There are a few debuts coming out in February that I would like to share with you all.
The first book is one that everyone is freaking out about, and that is Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard. This is out on Tuesday, and I have an ARC of it that I still need to read. I’m going to try my best to get to it before release day. Red Queen is a fantasy novel set in a world in which some people have god-like powers. One of the Guys by Lisa Aldin is about a girl called Toni who sets up a Rent-a-Gent service at her school, since she’s a tomboy and has lots of guy friends that the other girls are swooning over. I would normally want to read a book like this in the summer, so I’m holding out on buying it just yet! Then, finally, there is City of Savages by Lee Kelly, which came out yesterday. It’s set in New York after it has been invaded by the Red Allies, and more importantly, it’s about two sisters!
Which debuts are you looking forward to reading this month?
I am so excited about Red Queen. I can’t wait to read it!
Loved Red Queen! I can’t wait to get the finished copy hehe it’s one of my fave from 2014 <3
I LOVED One of the Guys, so far it’s one of my favorites of 2015! 😀
City of savages. We need more NYC setting.
I’m really excited for Red Queen too! I’m hoping to get to it before the release date – it’ll be close! One of the Guys sounds fantastic as well! I’m really excited for Shutter by Courtney Alameda which came out yesterday, it sounds fab!
I have seen Red Queen everywhere, but I will wait to see what you think to see if I want to read it or not. I’m not that interested in, but could be persuaded.
I’m pretty excited for One of the Guys. I love boy-girl friendships, especially the dynamic of having one girl in a group. I think it goes without saying that I’m pumped for Red Queen. I’ve only heard a bit about City of Savages. I think I’ll wait to see what people think of it.
I want to read all of these! Red Queen is sitting on my Kindle waiting to be read, but I’ve given up on getting that read and reviewed by release day. I can’t wait to see what type of powers these people have. One of the Guys sounds like a fun, fluffy read that I will enjoy immensely. It’s the type of book I’d read to get out of a slump or as a study break. And City of Savages I want to read because sisters and the premise is just really intriguing.
I already knew about Red Queen, but the other 2 sound really good as well! Thanks for introducing them to me. I will pick them up.
I’m looking forward to Red Queen, but I’m not sure if I’m ready for high fantasy yet. I’ve already read One of the Guys, and I’m really glad that I liked it despite the many negative reviews on goodreads. Happy reading! 🙂
