Happy New Year everyone! Who’s ready for alllll the 2018 releases?! Me! Here’s a very short list of my most anticipated January releases. It was really difficult to only pick six. Which ones are you looking forward to?
The Hazel Wood by Melissa Albert
This has been getting mixed reviews but regardless, everyone has been talking about it.
Reign the Earth by A. C. Gaughen
I didn’t like Gaughen’s other series, but I’m willing to give her books another go in the form of this new series.
Markswoman by Rati Mehrotra
The main character sounds fierce.
I wrote a post a few weeks ago that featured a few 2018 releases that I’m dying to read, and since there are a TONNE of amazing-sounding books coming out next year, I had to make a part two. Let me know if you’ve read any of these already and which ones I should be prioritising. If I buy them all then I’m going to go broke soooo quickly.
Unearthed by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner
This is probably going to be my next read, actually, because I need all the sci-fi. This is about an alien race and space and stuff. I’m so good at summaries.
You’ll Miss Me When I’m Gone by Rachel Lynn Solomon
This is about twins who are Jewish who are tested for a genetic disease. One tests positive, but the other doesn’t.
Ink, Iron, and Glass by Gwendolyn Clare
Scriptology, the creation of new worlds through writing, is a thing, and the main character ends up in 19th century Italy. Guys. GUYS.
Year One by Nora Roberts
I’ve not read anything by this author but apparently she’s quite good, and this sounds like a really good fantasy.
Barbary Station by R. E. Stearns
In case you’re in the mood for some sci-fi.
2018 is looking to be a great year for new releases. I can’t remember feeling this excited about 2017’s prospects (although that might have been because I wasn’t really paying attention) but this year I am SO. DAMN EXCITED. About everything! All the books! I’ve had to split this post up because there are so many books that I want to mention. Which 2018 releases are you looking forward to? Have you read any already? Which ones should be at the top of my wishlist?
- Obsidio by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff
The Illuminae Files finale is hopefully going to be just as good as Gemina, if not better. I was on the fence about Illuminae, but Gemina made me really excited for the final book in the series. And I need more books that are written in this style!
- Hero At The Fall by Alwyn Hamilton
Another series that I am loving is wrapping up next year. I can’t wait to see what the gang gets up to in this one, and how everything is going to be sorted out! I love this fantasy series so much.
- A Girl Like That by Tanaz Bhathena
This is about a girl from Saudi Arabia called Zarin who dies in a car crash in Jeddah. Her story is told from various points of view, by the people who gossiped about her and those who have heard said gossip. I imagine this is going to be a powerful read!
Oathbringer by Brandon Sanderson
I’M SO READY
Renegades by Marissa Meyer
This is about humans with superpowers. It’s got to be good, right?
Artemis by Andy Weir
The Martian is one of my all time favourites so I’ll read anything Andy Weir writes.
