This update isn’t quite as busy as the last one because everything kicked off towards the end of the month and I was suddenly really busy. I haven’t had a truly free weekend to read, so I’m a bit slower with wiping out the TBR. I’m hoping it’ll pick back up next week once everything calms down and I can focus!
The first book I finished was There’s Someone Inside Your House, which turned out to be a really good, creepy read. I was really pleased with Perkins’ transition into horror. It reminded me a bit of the Scream trilogy, except with more romance. And the big reveal wasn’t all that great.
I’m currently reading Gemina. I went out and bought it after I recapped Illuminae for Recaptains because I was in the mood, and I’m actually liking it a lot more than the first book.
Speaking of Recaptains, that’s what has been taking up a lot of my time! I’ve been slowly getting both Books of Amber and Recaptains back up and running again, and Recaptains is taking a bit longer because of the work that goes into recapping series. I’m enjoying it though!
My goals for the next couple of weeks are to finish Gemina (and recap it!), and read a couple of others books. I have a few in mind, including The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet, These Things I’ve Done, and The Roanoke Girls. I’m also considering taking part in ARC August because that’s always fun.
