As her whole world crashes down around her, who can Riley trust with her heart – and her life? – Goodreads Page
Forsaken sounded like a fantastic read. I love demons, demon hunters *points at the demon-fighting Winchester in the banner* and all things supernatural, and so I couldn’t wait to get stuck into this book. Unfortunately, I finished it feeling a bit let down.
Don’t get me wrong, I did enjoy the novel, but I found myself getting frustrated with the main character so many times. And if you’ve read my reviews in the past, you will know that an annoying main character could easily mean the death of a book for me.
I’ve given this book an average rating, because Riley and Simon just weren’t doing it for me, and it took a while to get into. However, I still definitely recommend this if you’re a fan of demons and the paranormal. I’m about to pick up the second book in the series, Forbidden, after I’ve posted this review. Fingers crossed for more Ori, eh?
I’ve had this on my TBR list for awhile. It sounds good, but I like badass characters. Probably won’t get to it any time soon.
*siiigh* Dean……
Haha, this banner is only temporary. Wait until you see the one my friend is working on for me 😀 *swoon*
But Dean READING is so yummy. lol
I actually liked Riley, I thought she was pretty tough! I agree about Simon though – he went from okay to just plain annoying in my opinion. Glad you’re gonna read the second book though – there’s definitely more Ori in it! Great review :).
I really like this cover! To bad the book wasn’t as great. It’s disappointing that you found the love interest, Simon, not very interesting. Bummer!

I was struck by something in your review, how you really liked a side character. Don’t you hate when these really awesome characters are there and you have to deal with annoying main characters?
Hmm, definitely sounds like a library try-out if I do decide to look into this book.
I enjoyed this book a lot! It had good things & bad things! I didn’t like Simon & their relationship, but I fell in love with Beck! He’s such a great character! As for Ori, I still haven’t read Forbidden, but I know there’s a lot more of him in it 😉 Also, I loved the demons, too & I’m definitely planning to read Forbidden!
