Despite telling myself that I had absolutely no spare money at the end of June, I still went ahead and bought some books. But they were Brandon Sanderson books, so I think my spree was warranted? Right? Yes. Good. A bunch of amazing people sent me some books as well, because they’re brilliant and I love them to pieces. Even if some of them (Meg) are trying to ruin my life. There’ll probably be another book haul next month because I’m planning on going on a celebratory book shopping spree at some point in the next couple of weeks.
Black Ice by Becca Fitzpatrick
This was an unsolicited review copy, but I will be putting it on my TBR for August because I really like the Hush, Hush series. Yes, I know Patch is a horrible person, but since when have I cared about that?
The Secret Diary of Lizzie Bennet by Bernie Su and Kate Rorick
I haven’t seen the series on Youtube so I sent this to Judith to review instead. Enjoy, Jude!
Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson
YESSSSSSSSSSS. I was going to buy the hardcover (*whispers* I love you, Morgan) but then Simon & Schuster offered me this so I flailed and died and resurrected and accepted.
Afterworlds by Scott Westerfeld
All I know about this one is that it has a story within a story. I’m worried I’m not going to like it. We’ll see.
The Savages by Matt Whyman
I quite liked this weird story about cannibals.
Say Her Name by James Dawson
This was creepy, but there was too much romance. Bloody Mary, though!
The Violent Century by Lavie Tidhar
To start my “Gifted” section, my wonderful fellow history lover Rinn sent me The Violent Century! She liked it, but not enough to keep it, so I’ll be reading this ASAP.
Deadline by Mira Grant
And Meg, because she wants to ruin my life even further, surprised me with these two books! I died when I ran into the postman and he gave these to me.
Blackout by Mira Grant
I also cried a lot. I want to read these next month!
Sepulchre by Kate Mosse
My boss brought in a bunch of books and I nabbed this one up. I need to read Labyrinth first, though.
Far From You by Tess Sharpe
Because I got a book signed for Raeleen at YALC, she sent me this as a thank you! FAR FROM YOUUUU. I finally have my own finished copy *sobs*
Stormdancer by Jay Kristoff
Judith and I are marathoning this in August. We will stick to the marathon this time. I am determined.
My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick
I read this when it first came out and I finally bought my beautiful hardcover all for myself.
The Way of Kings, Part One by Brandon Sanderson
The Way of Kings, Part Two by Brandon Sanderson
Welcome to the #SandersonArmy section! I went on a bit of a spree after finishing The Final Empire and dying over it. I bought these two from Foyles in London.
The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson
The Well of Ascension by Brandon Sanderson
The Hero of Ages by Brandon Sanderson
And I bought this beautiful boxset from Ebay when I decided I couldn’t wait any longer. Who cares if I didn’t have the money? The Final Empire is the best book I’ve read all year, and I cannot wait to continue with the trilogy (series?). BUT, I am really scared so I’ve been putting it off.
Wooooooh. The Newsflesh Trilogy! I want them so badly. I currenty only own Blackout, because it was cheap on the Boekenfestijn. But I need to buy the others, because I will probably have feels from what I have heard. I need to buy books, but I really don’t have the money at the moment. Ugh. I bought me some other stuff, like books for school worth over 300 euros. Haha. Good times.
LOVED Far From You! I was surprised by how much I loved it! I really want to read Black Ice and Since You’ve Been Gone 🙂
I hope I can buy that box set from Brandon Sanderson next month! I’ve had it in my hands a couple of times now, but I just need to go for it. He, I’m planning to read Stormdancer soon too 🙂 Happy reading.
Oh I didn’t know they turned the Lizzie Bennett Diaries into a book! Must get my hands on a copy of that asap! x
HI AMBER I HOPE YOU ENJOY YOUR TEARS UNFATHOMABLE SADNESS!
GAHHHHHH I NEED TO GET THOSE FINAL EMPIRES BECAUSE THEY ARE SO PRETTY AND WONDERFUL AND I WANTS THEM!
“I quite liked this weird story about cannibals.” This sentence combined with the creepy cover = must have.
High five, excellent haul!
Agh! The Final Empire is SO, SO GOOD! Honestly, it is one of the best series I’ve read in terms of world-building and characters. The fantasy element is so in-depth! I can’t wait to start reading Brandon Sanderson’s other books. Elantris is already on the pile 🙂
LOTS of Brandon Sanderson there 😛 I own the boxset but haven’t started it yet. Isn’t that always the case with most of us blogger/vlogger types? Good luck with the Stormdancer marathon!
So many pretty Sanderson books! I just love these white covers. Should they ever decide to change their design I’m gonna kill someone!
I didn’t know Stormdance is one of those big hardcovers *_* I want this series but I would have bought the PBs! Now that I know I’ll definitely go for the HCs. I love those big ones.
Did you like Hush Hush? I didn’t know that. I haven’t read it but I’m not going to thank you very much.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR LIZZIE BENNET! If you ever watch the series and want to read it, I’ll send it back so you can read it 😀
SINCE YOU’VE BEEN GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONE
I love Meg. I knew she was sending this to you 😀
Omg Far From You looks so pretty
Keep me updated on Stormdancer feels and thoughts. I will start it soon!
MY LIFE NEXT DOOR <3
The Brandon Sanderson books are sooooooooo pretty I want them all.
Never let having no money stop you from purchasing more books! 😀 Umm, somehow.
I have Afterworlds from Netgalley, I didn’t realise how huuuuge it was until I saw a couple of people actually holding the book in vlogs and stuff. BRICK.
I hope you enjoy The Violent Century more than me! I liked the story, but it was mostly the writing style that put me off. However, it IS about superheroes which automatically gives it some bonus points.
There’s at least four books to the Mistborn series, I don’t know if that’s where it ends but there’s definitely four. I NEED THEM ALL NOW. I’m debating whether to buy the Kindle versions so I can read them asap.
