Monthly Wrap Up: December 2017

Life in December

ice skatingDecember was, to put it lightly, absolute insanity. The month started off really well. My boyfriend and I went Christmas tree shopping, and I got all of the Christmas present shopping out of the way in the first week or so. I was so organised! Then my nan (who I wasn’t at all close to) died just as I was taking a week off work, which left me in an odd mood over the run up to Christmas.

On a more positive note, I had a pretty good time over Christmas! There were a couple of Christmas dinners with friends, and I spent a lot of time with my family, which was quite exhausting but also quite fun. They’re a loud bunch, and it can make me anxious, but I managed to keep it together and enjoy myself.

Quill and I went ice skating TWICE because he has realised that I was right all along and ice skating is actually really fun. I’m not great at it, but I find it quite relaxing anyway once I get used to the gliding.

On Christmas Eve, we went for a long walk around Bedgebury Pinetum and Bedgebury Forest in Kent. The weather wasn’t horrible, which was nice, and it’s a really lovely place to go for a walk.

I had to work the week between Christmas and New Year, which was boooring because the office was so quiet. Everyone was in a pretty good mood though!

Looking Forward

I don’t have much planned for January, which is probably for the best because I feel like I need some time to chill out. I might go to a book event if I have the time, and I want to do a lot of reading, blogging, and relaxing. Happy New Year everyone!

Amber, I’m so sorry about your grandma. That’s never easy, but holidays just make it harder. *hugs*

You and Quill look so cute together!

I hope January is a more relaxing month. 😊

Sorry to hear about your nan, quite weirdly my nan also died just before Christmas but I was quite close to mine so may have been a slightly different experience. Losing people around a holiday is strange so I get being in a weird mood while you were off of work.

Sounds like you got plenty done over Christmas and you had a great time even if you had to go into work between Christmas and new year (boo). I hope you have a good January.
