Me in July
July was another really busy month for me! You’re going to get so tired of me saying that. I started off the month training for my new position at work, which was absolutely exhausting. I’m impressed that I managed to stick to reading and blogging, to be honest. The training itself is over now, but I’m having to do the job again in August.
Quill and I went to the Star Wars Exhibition at the O2 in London, which was really cool. I was expecting it to go on for longer, as it only took us about an hour to go around the entire thing. The interactive character creator thing was kind of fun, although in the end you didn’t really do much with it. It was like putting together a really simple Sim character and then not being able to read the backstory or see where its life led!
I also went to see The Lion King in the theatre. The costumes were absolutely phenomenal. The songs were good, although I don’t think any of them particularly stood out. I think the costumes and set pieces were the best parts of the show.
I’ve almost completed Cough to 5K. I’m currently running for 22 minutes at a time, which I think is pretty impressive considering I hadn’t done any actual running for about 13 years! I’m slowly working my way up to 30 minutes of straight running, which will hopefully take me to 5K. I should really start measuring the distance as well. We’re still doing bootcamp, although I haven’t done it in a couple of weeks because everything has been stressful and hectic. I’m going back tomorrow though *gasp*
And, obviously, I am back on the blogging thing. It’s been a really fun month, actually. I’ve managed to schedule ahead, find a tonne of new blogs, get Recaptains back up and running… I’m taking it slowly and I’m trying not to overdo it because I have been really busy, but I feel like I’m balancing things well at the moment.

Book of the Month
Movies & TV
I’ve not actually watched too much this month! I’m back onto Game of Thrones. I caught up in time for the premiere and I’m loving it. I am kind of sad that I fell off the wagon a few years ago, but I’ve also really enjoyed this marathon. It’s making me want to read The World of Ice and Fire as well.
I made Quill start watching The 100, which is going really slowly because he’s judgy. He doesn’t like Bellamy or Clarke, and his favourite character is Wells. Lol.
August is going to be amazing! This weekend we’re going up to Birmingham and we’re going to chill and wander around and see the library and also Tatum. Then at the end of August we’re going on a longer trip to Somerset, during which we’re going to be doing caving, rock climbing, and tonnes of walking. I can’t wait!
A few work colleagues and I are going to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child on the 20th, which is really exciting. I’ve managed to avoid all spoilers, so I have no idea what to expect. It’s a looooonnnnngggg show though, and we’re going on a Sunday, so I imagine it’s going to be exhausting.
There are a few movies coming out that I’m really excited for as well. The Dark Tower, The Hitman’s Bodyguard, and Atomic Blonde all look really good.
And that’s it! What are you looking forward to doing in August?
